About the Grogan Family Program

Now Accepting Applications for the Grogan Family Program

The Grogan Family Program is designed for single mothers and their children. We provide a safe, stable environment where mothers can work toward independence while raising their children.

This is a working program with clear goals and expectations. While enrolled, mothers will gain essential life and job skills, including:

  • Resume writing

  • Money management

  • Budgeting

  • General employment readiness

  • And more

How to Apply:
Call or email us to request an application. Or you can download one below.

What to Expect After Applying:
If your application meets our initial criteria, we’ll contact you to schedule an interview. This is a chance for you to meet our team, tour the facility, and discuss your goals. After the interview:

  1. You’ll be asked to complete a background check and drug test.

  2. If both you and our staff agree the program is a good fit, we’ll set an admission date.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to cholley@pythianhome.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The mother is responsible for enlisting child care for workdays or while in school. This encourages a mother in her future independence.  We do assist in filling out the forms for CCMS if you have not already done so.

Grogan Family Program is not an emergency shelter. It is not designed to provide short-term, temporary relief from bad situations; it is focused on providing for the long-term emotional, physical and financial health of the mothers and children in care. The average length of stay is about 18 months, although some mothers may stay for longer periods of time.

Grogan Family Program offers referral information to community resources that can help meet current family concerns.

Grogan Family Program is not a maternity program.   If you are expecting another child, have your present child/children in legal custody, after delivery and dismissal from the hospital, we can work with you.

The purpose of Grogan Family Program is to make long-term changes for the good of the family. All mothers in residence are required to be working, or attending school, or both.

Grogan Family Program mothers pay a small monthly fee, although no one is turned away based on inability to pay. They are required to save a percentage of their income from jobs or other resources to encourage financial stability and good money management.
