Now Hiring: Direct Care Staff (Married Couple)

 Texas Pythian Home, Inc. – Weatherford, TX


Are you and your spouse passionate about making a difference in the lives of children? The Texas Pythian Home, Inc. is seeking a married couple to serve as Direct Care Staff (DCS) surrogate parents providing stability, compassion, and guidance to children in their care.


This is more than a job, it’s a calling. As live-in caregivers, you will help create a safe, loving home that supports healing, growth, and hope.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Create a Safe, Supportive Home
        Offer emotional stability, structure, and unconditional care.
  • Daily Care & Supervision
        Provide attentive, age appropriate guidance and maintain awareness of each child’s needs and whereabouts.
  • Ensure Child Safety
        Stay alert and proactive to prevent harm and promote well-being.
  • Understand  Individual Needs
        Learn and respond to each child’s habits, preferences, and challenges.
  • Promote  Growth & Development
        Encourage independence and healthy habits through structured, nurturing      activities.
  • Support Normal Childhood Experiences
        Facilitate joyful, age-appropriate opportunities to play, learn, and thrive.
  • Health Appointments
        Transport children to essential medical and counseling visits.
  • Uphold Standards
        Stay compliant with all child welfare regulations and caregiver  expectations.
  • Maintain  Residence & Grounds
        Keep your assigned home and vehicle in good condition; assist with basic campus upkeep.
  • Fulfill Additional Duties
        Support the overall mission through tasks assigned by leadership.

  

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Married couples with strong communication, patience, and a heart for children.
  • Willingness to learn trauma-informed care techniques.
  • Commitment to consistency, structure, and positive discipline.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience working with children or youth in a group living setting
  • Must  pass background checks and drug screening.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
