Reasons for Placement

There are many reasons why children may be unable to live with their parents or guardians. Families may find themselves in circumstances where they can not care for their children either temporarily or long term. Circumstances such as death, divorce, chemical dependency, incarceration, abuse or neglect may create an environment that is not safe for children. Families may become homeless and have no idea where the next meal is coming from.  Texas Pythian Home can help.

There are 4 primary reasons why children are placed at Texas Pythian Home.

Financial:

In most cases a single parent quit school early to start a family. Without an education, they are unable to find a suitable job with an adequate salary to provide the basic needs for their children. By placing their children at Texas Pythian Home, they are free to complete their education, get a good job, and set aside money to provide on a long term basis.

Physical:

It is amazing in this day and time the number of grandparents trying to raise their grandchildren. Their physical abilities are pushed to the limits trying to keep up with small children and their financial status may find them struggling to live on a fixed income.

Once they place the children in the Home, they can resume the role of grandparent. The children will be nurtured and cared for until they can become more mature and independent. Then they can return to live with the grandparent without being physically exhausting.

Rehabilitation or Incarceration:

A parent or guardian may need rehabilitation for an extended period of time or may be going to be incarcerated. The children can be placed in the Home rather than constantly being shuffled from place to place or possibly being placed in the Foster Care System where often siblings are separated.

Emotional:

The parent or guardian may be on the edged of emotional instability. The children may have become the caregivers doing all the cooking, cleaning laundry, etc. and literally making adult decisions. The children can be placed in the Home to provide a stable and nurturing environment that allows them to have a childhood complete with normal childhood experiences. The adult can then receive the professional help needed.

The Pythian Home will provide for these children until the parent or guardian can once again provide for them. Once the parent feels they are able to support and care for their children properly they can be reunited with their children.
